I had a stock photo printed in a custom size on matte canvas. It came out beautifully. This was my first time ordering from posterprintshop.com. The weight and texture of the matte canvas is very nice. I was creating artwork for my pop up “boutique.” So this worked out very well. The canvas was easy to mount on foam board using spray adhesive. There was a very thin white line across the top of the print (mostly black, so needed to be trimmed). I didn’t remember seeing it in the proof, but that could have been my fault as I have never ordered a product like this before. I plan to make future purchases and would definitely recommend them.
I ordered a matte canvas poster, which in every setting should mean it is hard and comes ready to hang. It’s weird and rubbery and rolled up. I paid extra so that I wouldn’t need to get it framed, and now I have to turn around and frame it. Very displeased. I feel it is deceptive, because all other companies would define this as a ready to hang format. The terms are that is it not framed or mounted, but this is made to sound like some extra service and not something you would expect as a part of a basic canvas order. Again, beware of the product you are purchasing. Very deceitful.
Hi Elizabeth!
By definition, ‘canvas’ is a media type, just like paper or film. The word “canvas” does not inherently mean that it comes framed or mounted. It’s merely a word defining the media. Just like our paper prints don’t come famed, nor our backlit film come in backlit frame, our canvas media does not come mounted or framed. You indicate yourself that you understood we state it’s not mounted. “Mounted” means ‘on a hard surface’, but to avoid further confusion we also state the canvas comes rolled in a tube. You didn’t pay extra to have it mounted or framed,, you paid for a canvas material, which, yes, costs more than paper, as the ‘rubbery surface’ you describe is artist matte canvas.
Most importantly, to ensure we are not deceitful, we explain this in multiple areas on our site, including at the top of this very page where you are writing the review. But most importantly, for full transparency, our Terms and Conditions on checkout explicity state that we do not mount or frame canvas prints and you will receive your canvas rolled in a tube, suitable for framing once you receive it. You have to check the box during checkout stating that you have read and understand these terms before your order can process. We apologize that this wasn’t actually read, however, we did deliver exactly what was ordered. Many artists and photographers love our canvas because it’s a true artist canvas that you can manipulate how ever you like when you receive it, including mounting or framing, we just don’t do that for you, and we’re very clear about that up front on our site. There are many other 5 star reviews on this page from customers who understand and love the product.
Thank you.
